How it works

Overview

Walmart needs deep insights into store & department performance, seasonality, holiday impact, and external factors. Your goal is to perform advanced EDA and present clear business insights in a multi-page dashboard with simple storytelling and actionable recommendations.

Dataset

Weekly sales with external indicators

• Store, Dept, Date, Weekly_Sales, Holiday_Flag, Temperature, Fuel_Price, CPI, Unemployment
• Create helpful fields: Year, Quarter, Month, Week, Holiday_Name
• Dataset link: Walmart Sales Forecasting

What you need to do

• Data Prep: clean missing/outliers, create time fields, validate types
• EDA: top/bottom stores & depts, YoY trends, holiday vs normal weeks, anomalies
• External Factors: relationships with CPI, Unemployment, Fuel_Price, Temperature
• Storytelling: 3–5 key insights + clear recommendations for management

Dashboard requirements

• Time trends (week/month/quarter) with holiday highlights
• Store & Department comparison with drill-down (Store → Dept → Week)
• Holiday analysis (holiday vs non-holiday)
• External factors page (relationships / simple correlations)
• Summary page with KPIs + insights + next actions

Deliverables

• Dashboard file: .pbix or .twbx
• Report (PDF/DOC, max 2–3 pages): Intro, Data Prep, 3–5 Insights (screenshots), Dashboard walkthrough, Recommendations
• Readme (optional): how to open, any notes
